REVIEW: Physicians Formula pH Matchmaker Lipgloss

According to the box, "With one sweep of the brush your lip color will adapt to your pH level and the lighting environment transforming into the perfect custom shade for you." The gloss comes in two shades, light pink and pink. I picked up the pink one. I had no idea about the different shades until I googled it.

I've read a couple of reviews for this gloss and some people commented that it was just a unpigmented gloss. I disagree. The gloss turned a bright pink on my lips, but I think its bc of the pH formula.

The packaging is sleek but semi-chunky. To some people, the packaging is super practical and to others it's silly and not very useful. The tube is square and on one side of it, it has a mirror. There is a little button at the top of the tube that when you push it, it lights up.

I don't know about you guys, but how often are you putting on lipgloss in the dark?!

The brush is a little odd. It's so tiny! It fits my lips because they're small, but I can imagine people with fuller lips will be annoyed to have to apply twice.

The pink color applies pretty clear at first but the color starts to change almost instantly. The directions say to wait about 60 seconds for the color to stop changing and in the end,  it turns into a pretty bright pink with subtle shimmer and gloss. It does tend to stain after you wipe it off, which I don't mind. It's like a lip stain.

What it looks like when you first apply it
This is after the 60 seconds
This is the look of it after the gloss wears off. Slightly stained.
The gloss didn't have a taste or smell, but it was a bit sticky. I thought I felt a slight tingling sensation, but it didn't last long. After a couple of hours, the gloss had disappeared but the color was still visable. My lips did feel a little dry and the corners of my mouth did start to flake a little. Not sure if that effect was from the gloss.

This is what the gloss looks like on my lips and compared to the color of the tube. I would say it's pretty true.

This gloss is perfect for spring coming up! I highly recommend trying it. If bright colors aren't for you then try the light pink. Oh yea, I recommend picking this up at Target for $8.99 which is a hec of a lot cheaper than at CVS, they were charging $12.95!!
