REVIEW: Garnier BB Cream

I've only tried a few BB creams from Asia, but I was very interested in trying something from the states. I saw that Garnier came out with a new BB Cream and basically ran to the store to grab one. I saw this at Walgreens and I'm not sure if it's available anywhere else.

The display also had a $1 off coupon, making this BB cream only $11.99.

It only comes in 2 shades: light/medium and medium/deep. I bought the darker shade, but I think if anyone's skin tone is darker than NC40, they won't find a match. I think I'm gonna also have to go back and get the lighter shade bc the medium/deep is a tad dark for me right now.

I found that the best way to apply this is with your fingers. If you use a brush or sponge, too much of the BB cream absorbs into the brush or sponge and not on your skin. It makes it look streaky and doesn't blend well.

The coverage of this BB cream is about the same as a tinted moisturizer, but the feel of it is a little heavier. The BB cream is thicker than most foundations, but I think it's mainly bc the BB cream has so many properties.

I found that because the BB cream doesn't absorb into the skin very well, I definitely needed setting powder. I tried both translucent and my Cargo HD powder and I like the translucent one better. Without the powder my face looked too shiny. I guess it's mainly bc of the SPF properties that it feels that way.

Sorry about the weird coloring, the light washed out the color
I found the wear of this BB cream to be about average. It didn't last as long as my foundation or some of my other BB creams. It does get you through a work day though.

Lightly applied and not blended
This BB cream also has a smell to it. It's the typical Garner product smell. I used to use their face scrub and it has the exact same smell. Once applied, the smell goes away almost instantly.

A little goes a long way so even though the tube looks small, it will last a while. I compared the Garnier one to my favorite brand and the Garnier one has more product. Please excuse my expression LOL

Collective Drugstore Haulage

My town is so small that it takes forever to stock up on new things so I have to buy a couple of things at a time and save up for one of these posts.

I bought most of these things at Kroger, Walgreens, and CVS. Mainly drugstore make-up and a couple of impulse buys.

I picked up the new Garnier BB Cream. I believe this is only available at Walgreens? At least that's the only place I've seen it. I'm gonna do a review once I've used it a couple of times.

I also have a weird obsession with Essie polishes, so I picked up another polish from the Lux Effects collection. This one is called A Sign of the Times.

I also picked up one of the new lipsticks from the Wet n Wild spring collection. I think they're called Mega Shield Lip Colors? They're super affordable at $2.99 and mine has a $1 peele coupon, making it only $1.99! The color is called Peachy Keen. Eh, I found the formula only to be so-so and the stupid tube doesn't twist all the way down. Lame.

I got my hair cut a week ago and the salon used these It's a 10 products. I love the way it made my hair look and they smelled fabulous. I saw these at Kroger and just couldn't resist. I picked up the miracle leave-in product and miracle shine spray. So far so good! It's lightweight and the shine spray does NOT make your hair greasy!

I also picked up a few new other products from CVS.

I got some some volumizing powder by Big Sexy Hair. I need to figure out how to use this bc it has a pretty sticky texture and I've gotten it everywhere trying to apply it to my roots lol

I also picked up another Revlon nail polish. This color is called Belle. It's just like the other Revlon glitter polishes, but this one has thick silver sparkles.

I normally don't buy things from Covergirl, but these duel ended lipsticks intrigued me. They're from the Spring collection and I believe they're called Blast Flipsticks. I got the color Tease. The color looks better swatched than on my lips. It also stains pretty bad after you wipe it off.

Last things I picked up were these eyeshadows. I already own a couple of them, but I was missing some of the shades I wanted and my CVS actually had a few left in the display so score!

This is one of L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadows in the color Iced Latte.

This is Maybelline's Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze on top and Bold Gold on the bottom.

On another note, I'm super excited to see these in stores! One of my favorite chocolates!

True Life: I have a shopping addiction

Did anyone else see that episode of True Life? It was actually quite crazy what people would do just so they could go shopping. I don't think I've progressed to that point yet, but sometimes I can never tell if I need it or if I want it. Usually it's a want, but I need to learn to just say no.

I did a little post break up shopping with money I know I should be saving, but it's TJ Maxx. I'm a sucker for their price tags.

Damage: 2 bags and 3 pairs of shoes. I know I need shopping rehab.

They didn't have much new things in the make up dept but they certainly stocked up some stuff in the shoe dept. I picked up a pair of platform chunky heels. I wasn't sure if I wanted them, but they just looked so cute on! The print reminds me of Missoni's line, but these are by Madden Girl. It also has that knit texture.

I LOVED the heels so much that I HAD to buy a pair of matching flats. These are for the lazy days at work when you just need a little accent, color, fun. The print is exactly the same as the heels and so is the material. These flats are by Steve Madden tho.

I also picked up a pair of my favorite kind of flats. I have 2 pairs by BCBG in black and pink that are just like this and they are so comfortable. These are exactly the same except they're teal and by Lucky Brand. I didn't even realize they made shoes.

In the bag dept they were doing the yellow tag clearances. I picked up this big laptop tote. It has a couple of compartments and is perfect for taking my laptop to work. Best part, it was only $10!

I have to admit this was an impulse buy. I had seen this bag before and didn't buy it bc it was expensive but on yellow tag clearance, this bag was a great deal! It's by Juicy Couture and NO it's not the velour ones. This is from their spring 2011 Luxe Chiffon Collection and it's called the daydreamer bag.

I LOVE the color of it and it's roomy so it will fit everything you need. The original price tag said $338 and TJ Maxx sold it for $130. I got this for $49 ... yes you read that right. The yellow tag clearance made this bag more than 75% off!!!

What have you ladies been hauling lately? Score any good deals? Hurry to TJ Maxx to catch some of these yellow tag deals.

Collective Swag: Forever 21, Rocketdog, CVS

I picked up a few things from Forever21 when they were offering free shipping online. I found that I didn't have a lot of winter pieces (aka things with sleeves) so I needed to stock up. How in the world did I get through last winter!?

I picked up a body con dress and also a pink blazer. It fits like a boyfriend blazer and looks really good with a black dress.

I also picked up these 2 tops from Charlotte Russe. Guess how much they were?! They were buy 1 get 1 free and only $5 for both of them! They're just white shirts with cut out sleeves.

I picked up a couple of things from CVS. The sale items had been picked over pretty well so I only bought 1 thing.

I also picked up one of the new Maybelline Dream Bouncy blush. I have to say the texture is very weird. It feels like a sticky sponge and maybe i'm using it wrong, but I can't seem to pick up a lot of color? Any tips?

I picked up some loafers from Rocket dog. I wanted them in the color gold, but these greenish colored ones were a little more unique. I was just gonna wear them to work.

Last but not least ... cute kitty spam. Isn't Ceas so cute?! The vet says that he does it when he's comfortable. Sometimes I think he's too comfortable lol
