September Favorites 2011!

It's already that time of the month again ... time for favorites!! August sure flew by real fast and I'm sure I'll be saying this when November rolls around too. I'm kind excited for fall bc it will be boots and leggings season! Yaaaaay!!

I find that during the warmer months, I have foundation A.D.D. and I feel like every time someone recommends something, I have to buy it. Well I got tired of all my higher end foundations and I've reverted back to my Revlon Colorstay for everyday wear.

I'm actually in between colors right now so I mix a darker and lighter shade. Some people might find this foundation too thick, but I'm a full coverage kinda girl. I have reddish uneven skin in some places and full coverage just makes me feel better.

Next thing up is my favorite foundation brush. I can't believe I waited this long to purchase it. It's the cult favorite Sigma F80 Flat top. It's so dense that it's easy to get the flawless airbrushed look.

I don't usually put on eyeshadows when I'm running errands, but when I do go out, the palette that I'm loving right now is thebalm Shady Lady Vol 2. thebalm is such an under rated make up line and it's only getting hype recently, but I love most of their products.

I love the pigmentation of everything and how long the eyeshadows last. The only thing about it that some people might not like is that all the colors are shimmery.

My favorite blush of this month has to be NARS Organism. It's also another cult favorite so I didn't even bother to swatch it. If you haven't tried this, I highly recommend it. Looks great on most skin tones.

Like foundations, I also have a slight obsession with powders. I LOVE my Cargo HD Powder, but this month I have been reaching for my MAC Studio Fix a lot. I'm currently the shade NC40, but I'm sure I'm going to have to go lighter in a month and have to repurchase.

Last thing on my list is not a make up item, but sorta a fashion item. I love these flip flops by BCBG. I got them at DSW for around $20 but they are so comfortable!! It feels like you are walking on memory foam. My favorite part is the pretty design.

What are you ladies favoring last month? Link it below and I'll definitely check it out =)

OOTD: Working nights =/

So 2 days a week, I work the graveyard shift at my job and literally I'm the only one around. It doesn't suck as bad bc I get a lot of blogging done and I get to do things that I've been putting off the entire week.

It always makes me feel better to dress up cute for work. I guess it makes it less depressing that I'm the only one around. Sorry these are crappy phone pics, but I left my camera at home =)

Dress: Hollister
Belt: Forever 21
Sweater: DKNY
Shoes: Steve Madden

Small Haul: Rugged Warehouse

I didn't grab much from Rugged Warehouse, but I did get a couple of shoes. They always have the best deals and they also carry a ton of F21 shoes.

I got a pair of these wedges for $3 and they're by Forever 21. The sticker on the bottom of the shoes said that they used to be $22.80

I also picked up a pair of these shoes. I just couldn't resist the cute flower print. These were $9.99

I found the picture from the website.

What are you ladies hauling lately?!

Haul: Urban Decay

I can't help myself. Pay days are like a free for all and money just burns a hole in my pocket.

I also picked up a couple of things from Urban Decay because I had that $20 coupon to use. All my products came in layer and layers of tissue paper.

I finally bought the 15th anniversary palette. I love it. The shadows are super pretty and so pigmented. I've always been a neutral girl, so I love the left and the right side of the palette, the middle is pretty but I can't see myself using it often.

Here are the swatches. I did them down the column from top to bottom. I didn't swatch these too heavily, just rubbed them once or twice.
Midnight Rodeo, Midnight 15, Vanilla, Flow, Chase
Tainted, Junkshow, Omen, Evidence, Deep End
Deeper, M.I.A, Ace, Blackout, Half Truth
I picked up 2 loose pigments, 1 matte eyeshdow and 2 pocket rocket lip glosses. I think I'm going to give the majority of this stuff to my little cousin. She's in 8th grade and these colors are fun.

The pocket rocket lip glosses are supposed to be the same, but one of them was discolored.

These are the $1 pigments. They're poorly designed, but great cart fillers.

The only reason I needed $50 was because they were giving out 3 deluxe samples with purchase. I got the 24/7 Glide on pencil, All nighter make up setting spray, and Lip junkie lip gloss. I LOVE travel size items because they fit perfectly into my make up bag for my purse.

Mini Drugstore Haul: CVS, Wal-Mart

This is a really tiny haul, but I wanted to share with you what I think about some of this stuff. I'm such a sucker for displays at the front of an isle and this is where I found most of this stuff.

I got 2 lip balms from Wal-Mart. It's from the Hard Candy line. I believe these are called Glossy Tinted Lip Balms (real original huh?)

The colors are Good Girl and Bridal Blush. I didn't bother to swatch these bc they have NO COLOR!! All they did was moisturize and gloss my lips. I will say that these balms are tasty tho. They remind me of Sweettarts or Skittles.

Another gripe I have about these balms is the packaging. It's super cute but completely IMPRACTICABLE. The lip balm doesn't retract all the way and there is so much of it sticking up that you will nick it. The picture below, I haven't even twisted ANY of it up.

I got three things from CVS, a polish, a lipgloss, and a lip balm/gloss.

The Revlon nail color is called Blue Mossaic. It's so pretty. I didn't get a chance to swatch it for you, but this website has a beautiful swatch.

The next thing I got was the Revlon Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze in Prime Pink. It's a pretty bright pink. I've never used these glosses before, but it was on the same end cap as the nail polish so I had to get it.

Last thing I got was a Maybelline Shine Sensation Lip Balm in Citrus Slice. I like the look of these but they are nothing to write home about. First, the taste is horrible. For being so fruity, it taste like I licked poppouri (never have but you get the point)

Second, they have poor color/any tint pay off and last, they're supposed to be moisturizing, but these last about 5 mins on me and then your lips feel dryer than before!

Thanks for dropping by guys!

Crown Brushes on Hautelook

First Jewelmint purchase!

Hey guys! So I finally caved in and joined the Jewelmint bandwagon. I hesitated for a long time, even thought I was seeing a lot of bloggers show their pieces, just because I'm not a big jewelry buff. I don't really collect jewelry and the stuff I do have are basically timeless pieces, such as my MK watch or like my Tiffany's necklace.

I saw a lot of pieces from Holly Ann Ae-Ree's youtube channel and I figured I would give it a shot and plus they sent me a coupon for 50% off so I thought it was a good deal.

I'm still not really sold on the whole jewelry subscription thing. For those of you that don't know, Jewelmint was started by actress Kate Bosworth and celeb stylist Cher Coulter. They created this site, which has you take a style quiz so they can calculate your personal style. The site will then present a personalized showroom of jewelry pieces for you to choose from. By paying the $30 a month subscription fee, you get one piece of exclusive jewelry per month.

You have the option of skipping months or buying more than one piece a month. It all depends on your preference.

Pearl Fleur Earrings

I have to say that I'm not in love with these earrings. I have kinda sensitive ears and wearing these for a long time makes them sore. I've only had these earrings for a month and they have already started to tarnish. I don't really recommend these.

Here to Eternity Set

I love this necklace set. I love pieces that have multiple strands. The only downside to this set is that they don't sit very well on your neck. I have worn these twice already and each time, they get tangled really oddly. It usually just looks like I'm wearing a bunch of strands and nothing really defined. Other than that, I'll prob give Jewelmint another go if I find something I'm in love with.

MORE September Hauling!

I always stop by Rugged Warehouse whenever I head to TJ Maxx because they are right next to each other. Let's be honest, the place is a dump and messy, but if you have the patience then you can find some really good deals.

They also carry a couple of name brands (like Juicy, Anthropologie, Express, and Urban Outfiters) but mostly it's out of season stuff. I normally go here for shoes. They always have a lot of F21 shoes in stock.

I bought a couple of pairs of shoes. These were cheaper than thrifting and they're brand new.

First up, I got 2 pairs of flats. You can tell that they are "Tory Burch inspired".  Honestly, I only bought then because THEY WERE A DOLLAR!!

I didn't buy these today, but these are what my Tory Burch flats look like, compared to the ones above.

I bought a pair of heels by Bamboo.  They have a leopard print on the heel and the platform. These are so comfortable! They're high but they have padding and a platform so it makes it easier to walk in. These shoes only set me back $7.99, so what a steal!

I also bought a white shirt and a black sweater dress. These were only $3 each.

I also went to CVS and picked up a couple of things. I used coupons for most of it so it wasn't that expensive. I have to say this trip was a fail because ALL of my lipsticks had defects.

I have renewed my love for my Revlon Colorstay Foundation. I forgot how much I loved it and recently I started using it again. I'm using shade 330 Natural Tan, but I picked up a bottle of 310 Warm Golden so I can mix the 2 for my in between color.

I also picked up a couple of lip products. All the lipsticks were sealed but when I opened them, they all had nicks in them.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Crush. It's an orange based coral. These are super moisturizing and very pigmented. They've changed the packaging since I've last purchased them and I must say, they're a lot CHEAPER! Like lighter and very flimsy. Bring back the old packaging!!

Revlon Colorstay Lipstick  in Pink Sugar. It's a shimmery baby pink. This was a fail bc an entire chunk of the lipstick was missing. I don't think the shade works for my chapped lips either, it looks really bad.

Revlon Colorstay Lipgloss in Peach Petal. This is a frosty pink. I love wearing these glosses over lipsticks.

Maybelline Color Sensational in Born with it. This is a beautiful color. It's a nudy pink and it looks flattering on most skin types.
