OOTD: Wine tasting

Our town always has a local wine tasting every spring and this year it was called 'Fork and Cork.' It's not super fancy, but it's a lot of fun!

Balmshell Lipgloss!

Balmshell is a Canadian based company where identical twin sisters Jennifer and Fiona Lees founded it in 2006. They have lip glosses as well as a lip and cheek tints. There also carry a Mini Gloss Collection of their best selling glosses.

Each shade is packaged with a tube that contains a floating illustration (it's associated with the name of the gloss). The gloss tube also unscrews from the illustration and turns into a key chain or, you could just use your gloss to as a keychain!

Description: A super moisturizing, preservative-free, sheer lipgloss naturally scented with a hint of vanilla and packaged in a unique tube with a fun illustration on the other end.
Price: $20 CAD ($11 UDS)
Availability: Asephora or on their website as well!

Conditioning Formula
- Jojoba oil (brings moisture to the lips)
- Lanolin oil (locks in moisture)
- No Artificial preservatives
- Paraben-free
- Perfume-free, but flavoured with a hint of fruity vanilla

I didn't really feel like really putting out $11 for a single tube of lipgloss, so I went the cheap route and bought one on sale. It was under the goodbyes tab and the color I got was actually discontinued. It's called "Confessions of a Call Girl" and only cost me $6! What a deal.

Source
This is the illustration information: Call Girl's floating illustration is a story about best friends spending hours gabbing away on the phone, racking up their cell phone bills, while a
comic bubble floats back and forth with the words "Blah... Blah... Blah..."

The shade is a sheer bright orange, but when put on it's more pinky than anything else.

I also received 2 samples to try. They didn't have any names on them, but it was a hot pink and the other a lighter pink. I tried to put both on my lips and then take a picture, but they were pretty sheer and didn't look very different from the above picture.

What does everyone else think of these lipglosses?!

Girls cannot have enough shoes right!?

My roomie came home with the most fabulous pair of shoes from Charlotte Russe and I just had to have them. They're booties with ruffles in the front and the material is suede. They come in all sorts of colors but I had my heart set on the teal ones. My CR had teal, gray, beige, yellow, red, and hot pink. These shoes were $40, but CR was having a shoe sale. It was buy1get1 for $10. So I ended up with 2 pairs of shoes for $50, which isn't a bad deal.

My second pair of shoes were slingback heels? They're beige and suede with a zipper up the side. They aren't like the traditional slingbacks, where you wear them to work. These are about 6 inches high and super sexy!

I was about to pay for my shoes when I spotted a clearance shoe rack and they had these fabulous boots!! These were on sale for $9.99 and they were in my size, last pair! It was definitly a sign. I gave in and got them too.

They're brown with fur at the top and buckles around the sides. They retail for $45.50, so I was getting a great deal.

Last thing I got was a gold bangle with lace around the outside. This was sale for $1.99. I've had a thing for gold jewelry lately and before I was strictly a silver kinda girl.

OOTD: Lunch, Errands, 65 Degrees, No prob!

The weather has been very deceiving lately. It's bright and sunny outside but it's only 65 degrees! And with the breeze it feels a lot cooler!

Wed night we also had a tornado warning ... not a WATCH but a WARNING. There were sirens blaring on campus and a loud speaker telling people to seek shelter indoors. Kinda scary, but the tornado missed us and all we had was rain. We were really lucky.

This is what I wore today. I had to run to sign my lease and a lunch date afterwards. It's nothing fancy, but it kept me warm for the weather.

NOTD: OPI Shatter with a Twist

I've had the OPI black shatter for over a week now and I haven't used it yet so I wanted to do a NOTD with them. I wasn't sure which colors would look cool and not too halloweeny so I went with a little mix.

I have on Sinful Colors in Sandal (this is from their summer collection), OPI Black Shatter, and OPI Alpine Snow

I was really skeptical about the shatter polish at first because the first nail I painted didn't look like anything was going to happen. But after a couple of secs, it was like magic!

I have on 1 coat of OPI Natural nails base coat, 2 coats of Sinful Colors on my 4 fingers, 2 coats of OPI on my ring fingers, 1 coat of OPI black shatter on all, and 1 coat of OPI top coat. This makes my manis last 1+ weeks. I also like to use a coat of the Out the Door fast dry to just speed up the drying time. I'm actually quite surprised at the short amount of time it took to dry.

OOTD: Enjoying the weather

I was super excited to wear the dress that I bought the other day from Body Central. It was super nice out, so I thought it was perfect for some lunch at the patio.

Dress: Body Central for $8.99
Belt: FREE it came with the dress
Necklace: Juicy Couture
Bag: Loeffler Randall for Target
Shoes: BCBG Paris Galinna from DSW for $19.99

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

I got my giveaway prizes today from Glam No Labelz! She sent them super fast and they came in 2 days! On top of the palette, she also sent me a lipgloss and a perfume sample. Thanks a bunch! Head on over to her blog if you haven't already. Lots of great things!

This is the Mark It Kit. It's a 2 sided palette that has 3 shadows, a bronzer, 3 lip glosses, and 3 color creams for eyes, lips, and cheeks.

Shadows, from left: (1) white hot (2) violet femme (3) vampette
Bronzer: (4) bronzini

Color creams, from left: (5) mauving on (6) goldirocks (7) cocoa rush
Lip glosses: (8) retro (9) lotus pop (10) pretty delish

This was the free Juice Gems lip gloss she added. It smells really good and reminds me of the Lancome Juicy Tubes Smoothie lip glosses. Just the smell and texture though, not the pigmentation. There really isn't any. It's just like a clear gloss when applied.

Forever21 Dress Haulage!

They got me once again with their cute designs and spring time prints. I didn't even get a lot this time for my $50. I only got 4 dressed. I guess that's quite a bit, but still, I usually come out with a lot more stuff!

The first thing I bought was a Button Tube Dress from their Fabulous Finds Collection. I'm in my neutrals phase and of course I had to go with taupe. It's a very cute and had little gold buttons that go down the center. This dress was $13.50.

The second dress I bought was called Ohau Strapless Dress. It's red with a flower print. I don't really own anything red so I had to buy it and it was a restock so since I didn't get it the first time, I thought I would pick it up now. It was only $11.80 too!

The last dress I got was a strapless knit dress. It has a pretty greenish, blue print and it came with the belt. I love it because it has pockets! This dress was $22.80.

The very last thing I bought was this hot pink mini skirt. I was in love with the idea of wearing a bright colored skirt so for $6.50 I had to pick it up. It actually stretches longer than I thought it would so you can wear it with a crop top or tucked in.

Graduation Dress FAIL ...

So I had a half day yesterday at work and I visited the mall to try and find a graduation dress. That turned into an epic fails! As I've talked about this before, my mall has really crappy stores and the only ones even worth mentioning, I would never shop at bc the sizing is weird.

I did however find a couple of gems in a store called Body Central. I usually don't go into that store but I was kinda desperate and I still didn't find anything worth wearing to graduation (helloooo online shopping!) But I did find 2 spring/downtown dresses that I think are abolutely adorable.

I wasn't going to buy both of them because they were pricey and then one of them had a broken belt loop. I thought that with the 10% discount they give, I could fix it. BUUUUT to my surprise, when I got to the register, the dress was $9.99 instead of the marked $22.90 and with the 10% it was only $8.99! Score!

The dress is a pretty teal color with layered ruffles. That's my favorite, ruffles! and it's also strapless and a-line. It came with a skinny brown belt.

Here's a picture of it on the model. I don't think I would have bought this dress online if I saw it on the model. It looks a lot better in person.

The other dress I got is a gray color. It's made from a linen material and has buttons that go all the way down the front. It's a-line, flairs out and also comes with a belt. Super cute and chic! This dress was only $20 with the 10% (bc a couple of strings were coming out of the buttons).

The dress also comes in a couple of different colors.

Tokidoki For Smashbox Modella Eye Shadow Quad $6.49

Smashbox Reign Collection from 2009
The packaging is super unique! It's in a leather flip top case. For some reason the eyeshadow didn't come in packaging, just as is.

Smashbox Reign Eye Shadow Palette in Majesty $8.99

The inside of the circles are matte shades while the outside of the circle are shimmer shades. I think it's a great deal because you are getting 6 shades instead of 3. The first shade is a pale peachy gold. The second shade is a reddish cooper with brown undertones. The last shade is a black with bluish undertones. The shades are kind of sheer but you just have to work a little harder.

Smashbox Reign Fusion Blush in Regal $7.49
It's a combo blush with one half that's a matte finish and the other half a shimmer finish. It's a pretty peachy nude. It’s also kind of hard to keep the matte and shimmer sides from mixing. The palette, though, is large enough to use the half you’d like to use, which is a huge plus. You also get a lot more product than the normal Smashbox blushes.
