REVIEW: Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick

So I was at CVS and I saw this display of Rimmel lipsticks. I was slightly confused because the packaging was different and the color selection was very limited. The in store display had five shades that were designed by Kate Moss, apparently it's to mark her 10th year as a Rimmel spokesmodel. The shades are supposedly inspired by timeless classic shades that Moss loves. I looked on this website here and it says that there are supposed to be 15 shades total, but it's only available in certain places.

I've looked at several blog posts and apparently the better shades are available in the UK. Like the nudes and pinks and Kate Moss's famous shade 001 which is the bright red. The ones at CVS were really random.

The lipsticks have a sweet vanilla smell to them but no real taste. The only thing I don't like about them is that each shade has no name. It's really hard to remember a little number associated with each brand and shade.

The packaging is very sleek. It's a matte black tube with Kate signed in red at the top. These remind me of the MAC lipsticks that Lady Gaga had minus the little red band in the middle.

The formula for these is the exact same as the other lasting finish lipsticks, but some of these are slightly more creamy. They're intensely pigmented and easy to apply, but I do recommend using a lip liner o the brighter colors because they will bleed. Some shades are more flattering than most. A couple of them highlighted every imperfection in my chapped lips.

Shade 01
The color is a pretty beigey nude. This color is a little drier than the other ones, but still applies pretty well. I found the 2 most wearable shades to be a tad drying.

Shade 08
This shade is an orangey redish color. The feel of the lipstick is super creamy, but warning this color does bleed a lot.

Shade 04
I bought this shade for fun and it's a vampy purple color. In the right light it gives off the purple sheen, but it looks almost black in most lighting. I'll probably never wear it again, but I thought it was fun to have.

Shade 12
This shade is a vibrant red. This color is a little less creamy than shade 08 and not as warm.

Shade 14
This shade is a pinkish nude. I liked this one out of the tube but found it hard to wear. It's kinda drying and really highlighted a lot of flaws.
